In this file are more pages and family data of some Baker and allied families 9 double pages making a total of 18 pages. I recommend for reading you print this document. We are priviledged to have access to these pages. Shared by Anne Baker: This Journal is the 1811 (published in 1812) “Acts of the Kentucky Legislature”. Every year the legislature publishes it's ‘Acts’ various laws, rules and so on. Robert Baker wrote on blank pages and spaces within this book the various family data. Please note that Lucinda Amis married 16 Apr 1825 to John Hammonds Baker & her sister Lethy Amis married James Oliver in 1827. Evidently the page with this information was written between April 1825 and 1827 as Lucinda "Baker" and Lethy Amis were born in this time frame.

Robert Julius Baker Journal 2

Lee County Agricultural Fair Programs

The following Lee County Agricultural Fair Programs with additional literature were recently submitted by Tom Beatty. Tom found these among his grandmother's belongings after her death in 1982. Tom's grandmother was Nancy May Breeding Beatty (1887-1982), a daughter of John and Perlina Hogg Breeding. John was a Civil War veteran and was County Clerk in Owsley County at one time. John and Perlina are buried in Riverview Cemetery in Beattyville.

Please be aware that the actual "Fair" programs are in PDF format and are large files. Those on a dial-up connection may not be able to open them. The Fair Overview and Fair Name Index files, also in PDF format, are much smaller, but still quite interesting.

1922 Fair Overview

1922 Fair ~ 12 MB

1924 Fair Overview

1924 Fair Name Index

1924 Fair ~ 10 MB

1925 Fair Overview

1925 Fair Name Index

1925 Fair ~ 26 MB

1926 Fair ~ 22 MB

1927 Fair ~ 12.5 MB

Wilson Family Diary 1906

JOHN B WILSON'S DIARY

John B. Wilson was my great grand uncle. I never met him personally but was acquainted through the correspondence between him and my father about the Wilson family tree. JB was the expert. His handwritten tree was the basis of my initial efforts on Ancestry.com. In the late 1860’s and early 70’s, three sons of Davis Wilson; John, Pleasant, and Davis Jr. left Owsley County, Kentucky to Fraley Ridge in Elliott County, Kentucky where they farmed the rest of their lives. Pleasant (Pless) Wilson, son of John, and John B's father established his own farm and raised a family of seven boys and 2 girls. Shortly after 1900 the boys began to leave Elliott County in search of cheap land and better economic opportunities in the west. This is a great story of one of these young men as he worked his way west, homesteaded in South Dakota, brought his family west, and moved on to homestead again in Canada, raised a wonderful large family, and established a highly successful farm that is still in family ownership.

Thank you John B. Wilson for sharing this part of your life with us!

James F. Wilson

John B.
