This is the Courthouse that burned in 1929 According to Abijah Gilbert in a letter written to the Louisville Courier Journal ca 1864: "The rebels have set fire to the jail and cut up the records strewing the pieces in the streets" This is the second courthouse which was built by the WPA. It burned in 1967, the cause of fire was unknown but it reportedly started in the Clock Tower. This is our courthouse today. [ Go Back ]
